Infosys and Telstra Launch Joint Venture to Drive AI-Enabled Cloud Transformation in Australia

Key Highlights :

Infosys and Telstra collaborate to deliver AI-driven cloud and digital solutions via Versent Group.

With the joint venture, the collaboration brings Infosys' AI, cloud, and security solution services together with Versent's transformation solutions to offer services to multiple industries in Australia and New Zealand.

Key Background :

Infosys and Telstra were in close alignment for over two decades with a common vision of pioneering digital innovation at pace. In 2024, they initiated a strategic transformation program to re-imagine Telstra's software engineering through AI-first innovations and cloud. This set the stage for an even closer alignment that would later give birth to today's joint venture.

Versent Group, which is the cornerstone of the new company, built a strong reputation in offering secure, scalable, and cloud-first digital transformation solutions. The company has about 650 professionals employed, which caters to clients in diverse fields of government, education, utilities, financial services, and many others, helping them to modernize their systems and implement new technology.

With Infosys going live with its next-generation AI platform, Infosys Topaz, and cloud offering Infosys Cobalt, and The Missing Link security solutions, the venture will have the capability to provide end-to-end solutions that help solve the digital challenges of the moment. These include maximising operational efficiency, securing critical infrastructure, and enabling data-driven decision-making at scale.

For Telstra, the joint venture is a strategic investment that will fuel the growth and market development of Versent. By combining Versent's global experience with local market knowledge, the joint venture will provide regional digital strength while being at the cutting edge at a global scale. The initiative is part of Telstra's overall Connected Future 30 strategy, technology leadership, customer experience, and innovation.

For Infosys, the acquisition further expands its presence in Australia and New Zealand and further solidifies it as a cloud and AI transformation leader across the world. With Versent's abilities being synergized into its service delivery model, Infosys is now well positioned to provide an enhanced, localized version of service delivery in the market.

The timing of such a partnership is timely with businesses and government entities increasingly seeking to invest in digital innovation in a bid to remain competitive and agile. The AI-first innovation, security-first cloud infrastructure, and deep industry knowledge of this alliance position it uniquely to drive the next wave of digital transformation in Australia and globally.
